Train keeps rolling in 2010

January 13, 2010 by Ticketman

Alt-rockers Train [ tickets ] have mapped late-winter dates for a second leg in support of their latest studio album, October’s “Save Me San Francisco.”

The outing kicks off March 4 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and continues throughout the month, winding down 14 cities later with a March 27 show in Atlantic City. Dates are shown at right.

Last fall, the band released “Save Me San Francisco,” which features the leadoff single “Hey, Soul Sister.” The cut is streaming at Train’s website, as is behind-the-scenes footage of the group shooting a video for the cut.

“Save Me San Francisco” is Train’s fifth studio set, and first to feature the group’s original core trio–vocalist Pat Monahan, drummer Scott Underwood and guitarist Jimmy Stafford–since 2003’s “My Private Nation.”

The band’s previous album, 2006’s “For Me, It’s You,” peaked at No. 10 on The Billboard 200. The group took a short hiatus following the release, which included time for Monahan to issue his debut solo album, “Last of Seven.”
